The Outstanding Tiny Desk AI template, shot by shot

Updated 2 November 2026

"Template" can mean a CapCut project, a face-swap preset or a fixed render. This one is the third: a set built once, five roles you cast, and the same three camera setups every time.

What a template means here

A CapCut template is an editable project: you drop clips in and move them around. A face-swap tool maps one face onto existing footage. Our template is neither. The room, the lights, the camera moves and the soundtrack are rendered as one fixed sequence; your five photos are placed into it.

That is why two videos from the same five photos look alike, and why a different five produce the same room. The only variable is the cast.

The three camera setups

The cuts are timed to the track, not to arbitrary frames. Each section lands on a musical beat.

  • 00:00 — Wide. Three singers shoulder to shoulder in front of the shelves, mouths open on the downbeat.
  • 00:05 — Push to the lead. The camera drifts in until the lead fills the frame and the background falls into bokeh.
  • 00:11 — Saxophone. Cut to the closing solo; the sax player leans into the mic stand.
  • 00:15 — Clean end. The clip lands on the last note with no fade and no watermark.

The five roles

Left, center and right singers, a lead and a saxophone player. Each role has its own photo slot. You can reuse one photo across several roles; every slot still needs a file.

The soundtrack

The track is a 15-second soul-funk groove composed by an AI music model for this template. It is not The Gap Band's "Outstanding", not a cover of it, and not a sample. The arrangement is built to land the three cuts.

This is the main difference between us and tools that advertise "with the original song". Those tools may sound closer to the trend, but they also carry a rights problem we do not want to hand you.

Template vs. CapCut or face swap

  • We do not use NPR's footage from the 2023 Charlie Wilson concert.
  • We do not use The Gap Band's recording.
  • You get a finished MP4, not an editable project.
  • The room, camera plan and grade are fixed; you cannot change the set.
  • The cast is five photos you own or have permission to use.

See what the template produces

The homepage has two full examples: five dogs and five people. Both use the same stage, the same cuts and the same track. The only difference is the cast.

The example videos were made with photos supplied for them, not customer photos.

Cast your own five

The template is fixed; the band is yours. Start with five photos and an original soundtrack.
